Lash Lift FAQ's

Want to up your last game, without a lot of maintenance involved? Let us introduce you to the lash lift, a semi-permanent treatment that curls your lashes upward so you can ditch the eyelash curler. What exactly is a lash lift? It’s like perming your lashes into a lifted, curled state. But unlike the harsh formulas that were once used to perm the hair on our heads, the treatment for lash lifts is gentler.

Steps involved in Lash lift and Lash tint:

  1. Remove the makeup.

  2. Place an under-eye gel patch on lower lashes.

  3. Next, place soft silicon pads on upper eyelids. Silicon pad helps in holding the eyelids in place when the perm solution is applied to the lashes.

  4. After that, apply the gentle glue to the silicone pad, comb the lashes gently and carefully.

  5. Next, apply a perming solution to curl the lashes. It will take 14–15 minutes. Then, remove.

  6. Apply a setting solution to the lashes. This will take 10–13 minutes. Then remove.

  7. Apply lash tint. It will take 12 minutes. Remove the lash tint.

  8. The technician will clean the lashes with the nourishing oil.

  9. The lashes are combed straight. Remove the silicone pads. Your good to go!

Lash Extension FAQ

What Are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of synthetic fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.

How long will a set of Eyelash Extensions last?

When applied by one of our artists, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should only be required every 2 to 3 weeks.

Are Lash Extensions safe?

The Esthetic Loft only uses professional grade adhesive which never comes in contact with your skin. Our adhesive is free of traceable formaldehyde and our extensions are applied by certified lash artists.

Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?

Our eyelash extensions are designed to give your natural lashes an improved look of fullness so mascara is not needed. It is recommended to not use mascara at all on lash extensions as oil is a main ingredient in most mascaras, and oil can break the adhesive's bond.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?

We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 48 hours of wear. After that 48-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, keeping away from extensive contact with steam such as in saunas or certain facials is recommended since it can begin to loosen the bond. Salt water should be avoided at any time while wearing lash extensions as it can break the adhesive's bond as well.

How soon can I wash my face after the extensions are applied?

The suggested time frame is 24-48 hours. For a guest with sensitivities, it is suggested to wash within the first 12 hours of application. Try to avoid getting the lashes wet, and do not use oily facial cleansers or makeup removers on the eye area while wearing lash extensions.

How do I take care of my new eyelash extensions?

  • Avoid getting lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours

  • Avoid hot steam or sauna

  • Do not perm eyelashes or manually curl.

  • Brush with a clean mascara wand daily.

  • TIP: Try brushing through your lashes right after a shower. The steam will soften them and make them easier to manage!

  • Avoid rubbing your eyes or lashes, especially when washing your face. It is recommended to clean around the eye area with a washcloth or cotton swab.

  • Avoid running water over your face in the shower. Moisture can break down the bond of the adhesive even after 48 hours.

  • If you can, sleep on your back to avoid the risk of lashes rubbing against your pillow.

  • Avoid using oil-based skincare & makeup products around the eye, including mascara & makeup remover.

  • Cleanse your lashes at least once a day with an oil free cleanser.

  • Do not pull or tug on your lashes as this can damage the natural hair follicle. If you need them removed, please call us and we can set up an appointment for you.

Is the product FDA approved? Is it safe?

Currently, the FDA is not regulating eyelash extensions because the eyelash extensions are applied to the natural eyelash hairs and do not touch the skin. The application process is pain-free. Some clients consider the process relaxing and even sleep through the appointment.

How long will it take to apply eyelash extensions and how is it done?

The application process for lash extensions normally takes up to 2.5 hours for a full set of lashes and 1.5 hours for a refill. You will lay comfortably on a massage table with your eyes closed while relaxing music is played in the background. During application, your lower lashes will be covered and the extensions will be applied only to your upper lashes one at a time.

How do I choose the look I want?

Your technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are interested in and what look will work best with your natural lashes & your eye shape. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous! Refer to our Service Menu for more info!

Do I have to do anything to prepare for the service?

To remove any eye makeup, use an oil-free makeup remover to cleanse your lashes prior to the appointment as well to remove any leftover mascara. Lashes should not be permed or manually curled at the time of appointment. Stop using waterproof mascara 2-3 days before the appointment as it can leave a film on the lashes that may prevent the extensions from adhering correctly. Remove contact lenses prior to the appointment.

What happens if I choose to have my eyelash extensions removed?

We do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a short thirty-minute appointment in which we apply a gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.
